The Ystra Winter Spider is unique among spiders in that the liquids in its body do not freeze in low temperatures. Their cobwebs and poison also contain similar chemicals, which are used to freeze their prey to death.

This monster has a Monster Compendium card,  Card - Ystra Winter Spider, that can be earned by killing it and looting the corpse. You can right-click the card to copy it into your Monster Compendium. Do the same to remove the card from your Monster Compendium.

Keeping this card in your Monster Compendium will grant a stat boost of +2 Wisdom so long as this card remains in your book.

This mob, Ystra Winter Spider, is a placeholder for the rarer Anselve. The chance to spawn the rare mob is .01%. To get the rarer mob to spawn, kill the placeholder.

This mob has fairly high magic resistance, particularly against movement reduction/prevention. If you are a couple of levels below your target and a Mage, plan on 1 out of four spiders resisting your  Lightning. Occasionally you will run into a spider that takes MUCH less damage from your skills than normal (as if you had the wrong weapon equipped). He appears to be an aberration rather than the norm.
