The droprate for this item is roughly 6% but it seems much worse. Be prepared to raze the forest.
Just to say, you are crazy if you do not hunt these in one of two places. One is the forest behind Shaman Eno's place. The second, and best by far, is the Jade Valley. The Ents are much thicker here and re-spawn quickly, making it probably that you can do this entire task in half an hour versus 2-3 hours.
