When you (or any player) die and resurrect at a Resurrection Stone, you leave behind a piece of your soul as a Tombstone. Returning to the place of your humiliation and clicking on this Tombstone will return about a quarter of the XP and TP you lost when you died. If you die again before collecting your lost soul, your older Tombstone will be lost as you can only have one.
If you died inside an Instance, your Tombstone will appear outside the entrance regardless of where you actually resurrect. Those who accept resurrection from a healer do not leave behind a Tombstone.
