This page refers to content introduced in the expansion, Chapter IV: Lands of Despair.

Beginning with Tergothen Bay, mobs may have a ball of energy visible below, around or above their heads. This is the visual clue that they have a buff on them that makes them harder than the unmarked mobs around them. The color of the ball tells you what effect is on the mob. There is also an Effect icon on the mob. Just in case you do not notice the energy ball or the icon, there is a sound that all these enhanced mobs make. Only mobs that display one of these four effects have a chance to drop a Mysterious Bag.

In this zone, from time to time you will be attacked by a Bloodless Assassin. He will be accompanied by a Hollow-Eyed Assassin and an ethereal Strange Shadow. If you back off they will not pursue you more than a few steps and then all three will vanish again.

Prerequisites:

North Thornose Beach is divided by the port and harbor into south and north beaches.

• South - Almost completely safe (snakes in the water) this beach is covered in Thornose Sand Crabs that harm no one but are a favorite of the locals. Four daily quests here do not require ANY combat.
• North - This is the dangerous-but-rewarding side. Thornose Seagulls and Beach Woodworm are here, and they hate each other. Pay attention and you can find some dropped treasures here. Once you are strong enough to hunt here you will spend several rewarding seasons here.

† Note: There are many dailies here between the port and the beach. The easy side is the beach with the crabs, but the XP reward from these quests is not as good as [66][Daily] Drive off the returned monsters in Redhill Mountains at Mill House (224,753 XP per completion).

Note: Each Thornose Seagull will drop 1-2  Seagull Leg Meat! Also,  Seagull Leg Meat will stack above the 10 required and will continue to drop so you can build up stacks of it to be turned in all at once. You must have the quest to get the drop but it can be completed at the time and the seagulls are close to the quest giver. This makes [Daily] Consequence of Stealing Fish an excellent candidate for Daily grinding.

Note: Each Beach Woodworm will drop 1-2  Rotwood Bug Bait! Also,  Rotwood Bug Bait will stack above the 10 required and will continue to drop so you can build up stacks of it to be turned in all at once. You must have the quest to get the drop but it can be completed at the time and the seagulls are close to the quest giver. This makes [Daily] Fish's Favorite an excellent candidate for Daily grinding.
