When summoning the Zodiac Pet for the first time that day, you will receive the effects of the  Star Spirit Blessing: for 3 hours, increases XP and TP obtained in battle by 20% as well as item drop rate by 20%.

The Zodiac Pet "thing" is a part of all Festivals. Each festival will yield Star Stuff for one attribute only.

To create a Summoning Stone - Newborn zodiac sign Pet you need to place a  zodiac sign Pet Crystal and attribute Star Sand ×3 (of the same attribute as the Pet Crystal) in the Arcane Transmutor and fuse them. The Adult and Legendary stages follow the same formula as the Newborn stage (with ever-higher Star Stuff quality).

• Stage 1: Newborn -  zodiac sign Pet Crystal + attribute Star Sand ×3 makes Summoning Stone - Newborn zodiac sign Pet
• Stage 2: Adult - Summoning Stone - Newborn zodiac sign Pet + attribute Star Stone ×3 makes Summoning Stone - Adult zodiac sign Pet
• Stage 3: Legendary - Summoning Stone - Adult zodiac sign Pet + attribute Star Diamond ×3 makes Summoning Stone - Legendary zodiac sign Pet

There are 3 stages and 12 zodiac signs (plus the 3 Secret Dragons). To get a Dragon Pet you need all 12 of that stage's Zodiac Pets, then go talk to Norah Kalesy.

Each Zodiac Summoning Stone that you create will also grant you a Monster Compendium Card. Even if, later, you trade the Summoning Stone in on a more advanced Summoning Stone you get to keep the Cards you earned along the way.
