Patch 4.0.0 - Lands of Despair
16 June 2011

Hello everyone,

A new age is emerging: Chapter IV – Lands of Despair finds its way to Taborea. Before you dash to read the latest Patch Notes, they would like to remind you of the following balancing statements:

Their initial plans have been extended somewhat, with changes being implemented not just for the mage and scout but for nearly every single class. You should notice many classes becoming more viable and playing a more prominent role in Runes of Magic.

Before providing them with feedback regarding the modifications, they would like to ask you to first take your time experiencing the new changes.

Initial opinions of changes on paper can differ substantially after having experienced them in a live environment in the context of all other class changes. Please bear this in mind before responding with any knee-jerk reactions.

They will open feedback threads in every class forum on Wednesday, 22th June, where you can inform them about your experiences with the changes.

The much anticipated fourth chapter of Runes of Magic has arrived. You will face a whole set of new challenges, including new instances, zones and monsters.

The new instance “Grafu’s Castle” was planned to be released as one of two Level 67 instances. During the development process the decision was reached that this wouldn’t work out. Rather than presenting two new instances that are only available after leveling up, we want to present Grafu’s Castle as an integrated part of the leveling experience. We hope that you’ll enjoy this instance as spellbinding addition to your journey to level 67.

Furthermore there’s “Sardo’s Castle”, the most difficult instance that is to be unveiled with Chapter IV. Most difficult? Yes – and no. Many of you will have expected this instance to come with an extra challenging hard mode. That won’t be the case, for now. With the current version of Runes of Magic you’ll have to face this dungeon with five companions.

since the patch notes are very big, they have been split into 4 parts:
