Summary

Meet Eye of Wisdom Instructor Samantha Delintas in the Basilisk Pit. While she is casting the forbidden rune removal spell, protect her from being hurt by the snake tribe.

Details

Adventurer, the rune stone you saw in the snake cave is a forbidden rune.

Forbidden runes are extremely powerful stones possessing strength incomparable to normal runes. If left in the hands of the ignorant or greedy, they will cause extreme danger to the world, such as this current snake calamity.

I'll enter the snake cave and remove the forbidden rune. Since you know its location, if you agree to accompany me, let's meet in the cave.

Spoiler Alert! We have some more information about how to perform this quest but recognize you might want to try it on your own before we tell you the secret...

DO not concern yourself with the aggressive snakes in the Basilisk Pit, as they will ignore you thanks to the incense you made. In the last cave, as the last of the Snakes are dealt with, you must immediately begin physically attacking the pillar (as she instructs). You cannot use magic. If you fail to destroy the pillar in time, you fail. You will have to abandon the quest and return to Samantha Delintas to restart it. If you are a Mage, doing this as I was, you may need to ask a Physical-DPS friend to help. I noticed most of my physical damage was useless, indicating the pillar was immune to the attack. I am not sure how to do this, but I have failed twice. As a 35 W/M I was able to solo this.
