Details

If I'm not mistaken, Chanep used a kind of transfer agent that can copy a document's words to another piece of paper. We sailors regularly use this kind of potion to copy treasure maps or replace old navigational charts. Chanep took advantage of your not being a sailor and copied the information from your scroll. But because that scroll was written in blood, not ink, all of its information was basically destroyed. But I believe Chanep must have a better copy. Perhaps you should find him and get clarification, or take back that which belongs to you.

I'm very sorry, kid, but I have to tell you the scroll you have now is only worth as much as a piece of parchment. Plus it smells quite bad, so I don't think anyone will want it.
