Details

Rules of the Cheers Card Game:

• each "deck" has 3 of each card, 1 to 6, plus 1 each of 3 Function cards:
  • Shuffle - Puts your cards back in the deck and redraws the same number of cards (up to max of 7)
  • Double - Doubles your current score
  • Destroy - Removes all cards equal to the value of each players highest played card
• X destroys Y (double the value):
  • 2 over 1, 4 over 2, 6 over 3, plus a 1 can destroy a 6
• Each round ends when both players Pass

Sometimes the game will bug and your opponent will play dozens of the same card in a row despite the fact that he is only supposed to have 3 max of the same value. There is nothing you can do about his cheating. I even saw an opponent play 20+ Double cards (when he should only have 1).

This quest was added to the end of The Beer Thief for the Juice Festival in 2021. You need to defeat 3 of the 5 Cheers Duel Players. The quantity of the reward indicates the difficulty of each player. Suohman Blackclaw - rewards  Festive Glass Bead ×3 Dukar Sterlin - rewards  Festive Glass Bead ×3 Mishani - rewards  Festive Glass Bead ×4 Bintha Burggrave - rewards  Festive Glass Bead ×4 Hozengo [Unwavering like a mountain] - rewards  Festive Glass Bead ×6 You can only beat each player once per day, so the BEST reward you can get, daily, is  Festive Glass Bead ×20 per day. Although Cheers Duel! Cheers Duel! only requires you to beat 3 opponents, you CAN challenge all 5! Just do not turn in Cheers Duel! Cheers Duel! until you get all 5.

Event Daily quests are repeatable, but only once per day unless a  Festival Repeat Ticket is used.

Unlike most Event Daily quests, this quest may be repeated as many times as you need to win 3 games.

Advice

I have learned a few things, the hard way, about playing this simple game.

• Do NOT play a DESTROY card unless you are fairly certain your opponent has played more high-value cards than you have, else you could end up hurting yourself more than him!
• If you have no clear play, play a 5, if you have any, as they cannot be doubled/destroyed, or used to double/destroy other cards.
• Do not DOUBLE until late in the game so your natural total is as high as it can be.
• Save a SHUFFLE as late as you can. This will significantly boost your possible value-in-hand to give you a strong finish.
• If you play a 6 and it is NOT destroyed, it means he does not have any 1s!
