Demon (Compendium Type)

In game terms, the word "Demon" is not a sign of Hellacious origin, but is simply a definition that this monster has used one or more Forbidden Runes and bonded them directly to their own body, essentially making an enchanted weapon of their own flesh. This kind of Rune use leads to expansion of the ego, delusions of godhood, and loss of humanity.

We are sure that most Demons, when they used that first Forbidden Rune, probably had good intentions. They were going to save their people, or end hunger, or ennoble their fellow beings and create a golden age. But somewhere along the road, as their power increases, they crossed a line and became they very kind of despot they despise.

Truly it has been said, "Power Corrupts, Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely."
